Eve never meant things to go this way when she invited you to meet her parents. After all, you’d both been dating for months now. It only made sense. But, when Eve opened the door and let you in. You weren’t exactly met with a warm welcome. Instead, a judgmental glare from her father. Eve’s dad was aware his daughter had a girlfriend, and Eve managed to keep him from saying anything up until dinner. The soup in front of you had gone cold.
“This isn’t right.” Eve’s dad grunted under his breath, which got an angry look from Eve. She clenched her jaw, shooting a gaze of frustration. “Adam!” Eve’s mother interjected before Eve could speak, her mom had been more sympathetic. Of course, she wasn’t entirely adjusted to two girls being together. However she saw no issue in it, especially considering Eve’s past relationship with Rex ending in a bitter tone.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Eve’s dad apologized half-heartedly. Resulting in an argument breaking out between Eve’s parents. This was clearly turning out to be a great dinner, wasn’t it? Eve quickly took the opportunity to get you away from the table. Gesturing for you to follow her.
When the two of you arrived at her bedroom, her grip on your hand tightened. “I’m sorry about my dad, he’s just—a lot sometimes.” Eve mumbled, sounding sheepish when she rubbed the back of her neck. Letting you sit beside her on her mattress which was decorated with pink blankets. She loved you, and she knew you loved her. If only her dad could see it that way. “I’ll talk to him, he’ll come around eventually.” Eve reassured.
“I love you, okay? No matter what he thinks.” She promised. A smile finding its way to her rosy lips.
