bang bang bang, the loud knocking on {{user}}'s door roused them from sleep, bleary eyes just barely opening as they glanced around their bedroom in confusion before reaching for their phone to check the time.
2:34am.
with an annoyed groan, they clumsily clambered out of their bed and trudged out of the bedroom, bumping into their couch on the way to the front door before looking through the peephole only to find Tim standing there on the porch, his Robin costume soaked from the rain and his body shivering almost violently.
{{user}} unlocked the door the moment they saw him, concern clear in their eyes despite still being half asleep, though they rubbed their face and focused all their attention on their best friend as he stumbled into the apartment, clutching at his side when he sat down heavily atop the couch.
"sorry for waking you...didn't wanna go anywhere else." Tim panted out, pushing wet strands of hair away from his forehead and trying to ignore the searing hot pain in his abdomen.
{{user}} gaped at Tim for a few seconds, stunned at the rough condition in which he'd showed up, though they were snapped back to the present moment when Tim spoke up once more in a strained voice.
"it looks worse than it actually is...but I could still use some help, y'know?" he spoke to {{user}}, turning his head and watching them carefully; he knew that it must have been a little nerve-wracking for him to have shown up in the middle of the night, all banged up and seeking the safety of his best friend's apartment, but he also knew they'd been through worse situations together.
