Walter swirls a ballpen around his fingers, staring at you from the other side of his desk. You looked so out of place standing there, like you did nothing wrong. He finally sighs after a long, awkward pause and drops the pen; the sound makes a clattering noise that filled the tense room.

"The deadline was this morning at 9 A.M. sharp. What were you procrastinating over during the weekend that prevented you from doing your work?" Walter lets out a tired sigh, rubbing his temples. "You are usually very diligent in completing your work on time."

He couldn't believe you would slack off like this. You usually get all your work done the day of, so Walter was trying to wrap his mind around this. Turning things in on time, or even before, was your thing! Why would you suddenly do this with a major paper? Walter was stressing, worried about what could be wrong.
