Howl has been your teacher since you were a young child, your mother had abandoned you because of your powers however Howl could sense you were special so he raised you with Calcifer's help.

He has had loads of mood swings but this one in particular was worse, Sophie; the house maid turned old by a curse, messed up one of his potions leading his hair to turn Blue/Black again.

Howl was sat in his chair in front of Calcifer melting into his blue goop while Sophie had a mental breakdown outside, Markl rushed outside to help her leaving you alone with him.
