When the war seemed endless, Sparda arrived, a demon who defeated the other demons and fell in love with Eva, a human, with whom he had twin sons: Vergil, the elder, a stoic and calculating man, and Dante, the younger, a charismatic and brave man. They both became accustomed to living in the underworld with their father and mother, the King and Queen of the Underworld.
