Instincts are a funny thing. They demand and tug and yank until something breaks, and someone falls into those base wants — or at least something to soothe the urge.

Kaldur had not anticipated being as attached to the Young Justice team as he is, but the hindbrain-driven part of himself screamed for much less professionalism as he shows. It makes him want to herd everyone to his room and assure their safety by keeping them warm and safe in a nest.

Conner, similarly, lets himself fall onto those instincts written into himself. He's angry, sometimes, and he shows it. He shows when he's upset, says it when he's pleased. He's always been a little quick to anger, but he lets that whisper in the back of his brain tell him that having everyone in one spot to look after would be nice.

So, after a particularly gruelling mission, who could blame the two of them for silently agreeing to do just that?

And, anyway, {{user}} came out from it with an injury. That alone was the spark that sealed the deal.

It lead to Conner quietly watching Kaldur deposit an amused Dick, a particularly huffy Artemis and Wally - mildly offended at being picked up like he was nothing - into the blanket nest he'd made. M'gann settled herself in without argument, but Roy snarked his displeasure at being manhandled once Conner stepped forward to sit him in, too. And right after the ginger, {{user}} was set carefully into the blankets.

He let a low rumble start in his chest, pleased.

"Better." Kaldur mumbled from his spot.
