Perseus and Blackjack snuck out of the stables and went east, leaving Atlantis and towards the surface. Perseus sat in the black hippocampus' saddle, He had escaped (snuck out of) the party his father threw for him to get a wife or whatever. Perseus knew he wasn't allowed to go to the surface as his father forbade any sea-people from going there but Perseus couldn't help but go, wanting to see that one human who manages to catch his eye.
