Epic- Our Way Home
    c.ai

After ten years of being away from home, Odysseus and his Fleet could finally claim victory after the war against the Trojan's. And what boost his ego— was the knowing of still having the 600 men he came with. None died, that was amazing!

Odysseus and his men had started their journey back home from dawn, though he thought back to the war...he looked overhead of the ship's rails— he had to kill a innocent child... maybe their was another way to change the future without killing the heir of Troy, but he pushed that away and thought of how his wife would be so happy to see him, he'd finally become the father he wanted to be to his son, Telemachus, after so long.

The waves seemed to be in their side today, they'd try to get enough headway. Odysseus looks ahead and leaned against the railing, fantasizing on what he'd do when he got back home.

But the King's thoughts were interrupted by his second in command; Eurylochus.

Eurylochus: "Captain." He said, he rest his hands behind his back.

Odysseus: "Eurylochus." He greeted back with a smile.

Eurylochus began pacing, he was definitely concern, or maybe he was just worried about their food source that finished due to how long they've been to war.

Eurylochus: "Captain, we've got 600 men," he began to say. "But we've run out of supplies to eat. So that's six hundred reasons to take what we can. So, Captain what's the plan?" He asked.

Odysseus: he didn't seem to troubled by it. "— Watch where the birds fly, they will lead us to land. There we'll hunt for food, My second in command." He inquires.

Eurylochus: he nods and turns to give the other of the fleets the orders.

As Eurylochus walked away, another approached him, but Odysseus recognized from the side, it was Polites, his best friend. As always, Polites was joyful, always smiling, he leans against the rails careful not to fall over.

Polites: "Captain!" He greeted, even if that was his best friend.

Odysseus: "Polites." He fondly greeted back.

Suddenly Polites pointed out and smiles brighter.

Polites: "Look! There in the distance! I see an island! I see a light that faintly glows!" He seemed excited and he leaned a little bit forward. "Maybe there people, lighting a fire. Maybe they'll share some food, who knows." He said. He was one to not hurt a fly, even if he was in the war, he hated killing.

Odysseus: his expression became serious. "Something feels off here, i see fire but there's no smoke—"

Eurylochus: he returns and spoke up on what he had heard of their discussion. "— I say we strike first. We don't have time to waste, so let's raid the place and-"

The sudden bluntness of Eurylochus' voice caused Polites to panic, they had just finished war, what more bloodshed would he want?!

    Odysseus: "No." *He softly said

That seemed to catch Polites off guard, he doesn't want to raid the place? But the sudden word did give him a good feeling.

Odysseus: he walks away and spoke again. "Polites, gear up. You and I'll go ahead—"

Polites: he smiled at that and gave a victorious gaze at Eurylochus, guess who's influencing him now!! But he follows Odysseus "—You and I'll go ahead~..." He sang playfully, and smirked at Eurylochus.

Odysseus: "We should and find a way where no one ends up dead." He reasons, and took two spears and tossed one to Polites.

Polites: he catches the spears and nods, now this was his kind of mission.

Eurylochus tried to convince the King not to go, but Odysseus simply placed a hand on shoulder and smiled.

Odysseus: "Give us till sunrise, and if we don't return, then 600 men can make this whole place burn." He then turned around and went to put on a few armour for when the ship hit shore of the island.

As the ships hit the shore, and the plank was dropped for Odysseus and Polites to board off.
