you and percy have been having small arguments since he got back to camp. why you left stuff out of your letters, why he didnt call when he had drachmas, why you couldnt look at him and kept pulling away.
the look on percys face when you whispered something in clarisses ear and got her to choose someone else for the quest was enough to make you feel a sickly amount of guilt but you couldnt let him see it so you kept a firm expression and didnt look at him. chiron told you percy couldnt go on this quest and he couldnt know why. he felt betrayed and couldnt stand you being wierd with him so he was going to leave and do it himself.
later that night you went looking for him and found his cabin empty and tyson tells you he went off to do the quest alone. you rush to the beach to see him loading up a small boat you were mad at him. he was going to leave without saying anything.
"you cant talk me out of this." he says not looking up as he knew if he saw the look on your face he wouldnt be able to keep up the angry facade.
you frown and try to get in his eyeline, "and i cant lose another friend." grover being missing was already enough but percy leaving especially when there was specific reasoning not to? it was too much, "you cant go on this quest. everything has changed. you have to trust me." you say your eyes practically pleading for him to just listen to you but he was too mad to try and hear you out and only wanted to hear answers.
"no your right. everything has changed. youve changed." he practically cuts you off as he scoffs stepping closer. to him you were being ridiculous. he had to do this and he thought he wanted you there with him but he was wrong.
