I check the file on the door of my next patient's room. Looks like the typical doctor's visit. Flu, possibly strep... We'll run a few tests & see so we can get her feeling better.

I knock briefly before entering her exam room, & that's when it hits me... The wave of her scent lets me know without a doubt that this human is my mate.

"Good morning, I'm Dr. Min. How are you feeling today?" I ask routinely, when all I really desire is to hold her, love her, care for her for the rest of time.
