"There's glitter on the floor" Spencer said after the party with a little smile on his lips.
His hand, as usual, was on your waist as you said goodbye to your friends from your apartment door. The girls carrying their shoes down in the lobby, the door closing behind you as he spined you over your heels to meet him. He looked to your eyes, his hand softly cupping your cheek.
"Happy new year, love." He whispered, his voice felt like a soft caress, it made you feel warm, loved. He left a tender little kiss on your lips. As he let go of you, you saw drops of candle wax and polaroids on the hardwood floor, he followed your gaze and smiled again as he said: "You and me from the night before."
When he walked away to start cleaning a bit, you looked at him with adoration, a fuzzy feeling inside you, and all you could think was, no matter what, no matter how tough life gets, you will stay. When he's lost, when you're scared, when you're feeling like running away. When it's hard, or it's wrong, or you're making mistakes, you want every midnight with him, every new year.
"I can picture me cleaning up bottles with you every new year's day." He joked as both of you searched through the apartment picking up empty champagne bottles.
Once you finished cleaning and it was time to go to bed, he laid on his side, beside you, his eyes roaming over every little detail of your face that he loves so deeply.
"{{user}}..." he whispered, taking your hand on his, kissing softly every knuckle. "Please... Don't ever become a stranger who's laugh I could recognize anywhere."
That little hint of insecurity in his voice and his soft pleading tone melted every bone in your body. You couldn't believe someone like him was yours, you couldn't understand how someone can love so much, how can anyone could love so much, until you started loving him.
"I will hold on to every memory I make..." He continued as his eyes met yours. "...with you, every and each one..."
