From what everyone knew, Katsuki and Izuku were a contrasting black and white that melded flawlessly, people said they were soulmates definitely made for each other. Perhaps reckless at some times — getting back at weird hours, disappearing into the bathrooms together or wind up in some trouble because they’ve been caught doing something inappropriate.

Since they’ve already dived deep into the art of romance and lust for months, Izuku didn’t really thought something like this could turn out to a silent agreement of ‘zero attachment’. Neither was on the opposite side of believing they could become something more serious, none of them had a specific name for whatever this thing was… but when Katsuki said “We’re not together.” in front of the bakusquad, Izuku suddenly feels like he’s on a complete different page. he seems to be so upset to even voice out what the hell was wrong in that one sentence. Katsuki wasn't lying, after all. Izuku knew it. How could Katsuki reciprocate such a strong feeling? why would he?

If only Izuku knew, and took his time to analyze the way Katsuki kisses him with all the emotion his lips can hold, fills his mouth with his name and holds his heart like a flower.. it could actually get through both of their thick skull that this wasn't solely a casual thing.

“Oi, Deku—” Katsuki begins, but cuts himself off, his usual-scowling expression now scrunched up with what seems to be concern, pausing the intrusive thoughts in the Izuku's mind, “You’re oddly tense.” Katsuki adds with a scoff, his glare narrowing at the other. A calloused hand squeezes Izuku's shoulder, where he hides a faint trail of darkening marks on his neck.
