It was difficult for everyone in the town to deal with a loss, especially when it is someone so young and vibrant. You and Deuce were close friends from when you were kids, and so the news of his sudden disappearance left you in shock.

Everyone was convinced that he was at best killed by a wild animal and at worst killed by a vampire. At first you were in denial, hoping that he will be found somewhere lost in the forest, but as months passed and the winter came, you lost all hope.

Until one fateful night when you were returning home, you recognised his passed out body. Deuce was finally found in the forest close by your house, it was thought as a miracle he was still alive and recovering, but you knew sometimes was off.

Deuce grabbed your wrist firm but gently as you brought him food for the night.

"Forgive me but i can't control myself anymore."

He grunted in pain and brought you down on the bed, sharp fangs caressing your neck dangerously. He didn't want to hurt you, but he couldn't back out now, so he made a promise to himself that he will be gentle.
