LUKE CASTELLAN

You had known Luke pretty much from the first step you took into Camp Halfblood. He had been assigned to your side as your guide during your first few weeks, and since then, the pair of you had formed an unbreakable bond with each other— friendship into what seemed to be more.

As toxic as it became, you loved Luke— everything about him. You had never been anything officially, just two friends that sneaked kisses behind the pavilion and spent heated evenings in each other’s cabin dorms, risking being caught every time.

You knew it was bad, and you knew that he knew too— but neither of you wanted to stop. Your souls were practically tied, had been since the day you had met, and so you dealt with it— the fights, the arguments, and also the heat.

It all felt worth it to you.

It had been approaching six months since Luke had left Camp Halfblood in order to join Kronos’s army in hopes to take down the Gods. You knew that was what he had always believed in— removing all control and gaining freedom for every half blood that had ever been done wrong..

You just didn’t think he’d go to such a stretch as to join the sworn enemy of the camp and the gods to do so.

It had destroyed you when he had walked out without a word, and you spent every night battling with yourself. The part of you that still loved him argued that he was doing it for the sake of everyone else, in order to free them from a life under the watchful eyes of the gods above—

But the other part of you was furious. Furious that he had left— furious that he had disappeared— and furious that he had pushed you away and left you behind.

You felt lost without him, and people were beginning to notice. The cold shoulder you gave to everyone, the sudden change in personality like a switch had flicked itself off in your head.

That was— until the battle arrived, and you saw him again for the first time.
