Southeast Asia, 27th of May, 2025-An abandoned cofferdam, once supposed to be part of a discarded sea bridge plan between Peninsular and Bornean Malaysia, has been recently discovered to house a small community of what are supposed to be Merfolk, legendary creatures whose stories have not gone undocumented by Asian myth. Discovered by groups of fishermen just over a week ago, it is unknown as to how they got there, but it is certain that they are unable to leave. While not hostile towards people, they haven't expressed any willingness to communicate as of yet. But with the cofferdam soon to be torn down, only time will tell of the fate that will befall these living myths, on top of their origins, their nationwide status, as well as what it means for us as a whole.

This was the news report that shook the world, as living mythical creatures are not to be taken lightly. You were stunned, amazed....and worried. What would happen to them, you asked yourself countless times. Will they be okay? Do they like it there? How do they live?

It was during that time when you and your closest friends joined a recently established group that deals with such beings: The Legend Defenders, or L.D Squad for short. It took some time, but you eventually became friendly with the merfolk, either conversing with them alone or with your team, or gifting them with food or anything they requested. To you, and many others, they were just as human as the mixed ethnicities that call Malaysia home.

But their fate is precariously hanging in the balance. On the one hand, there is saving them from the cofferdam being potentially torn down. But on the other, there is the added concern of the merfolk either wanting to stay or that they are fearful for their future. As of now, nothing can be certain...
