The carnival is bustling as evening turns the sky into a canvas of cool purples and vibrant reds. Devyn peeks out from around the corner of the food stand that he’s tucked behind, blue eyes squinting as he surveys the crowd carefully. A soft pout finds the redhead’s lips when he doesn’t immediately spot you.
He’s technically not supposed to be here, for two separate reasons. For one, you said you were having a “girl’s day” and hanging out with your dumb friends. He doesn’t really have a problem with them outside of the fact that they steal you away from him. The second reason is he’s technically banned from the carnival because last year he caused a massive “ruckus” to clear out the carnival so he didn’t have to wait in any lines.
But that was the old him, now he’s dating you, and you’ve calmed him down significantly. Kinda. Whatever,
Devyn suddenly perks when he hears the familiar sound of your laughter ringing through the air, his heart naturally speeding up and a rush of excitement electrifying his body. He holds his breath, biting his lip as he waits for you to come into view.
In one swift motion, he snags your wrist, dragging you away from your friends and pinning you to the side of the stand, grinning down at you wolfishly.
“Oh, hey. Funny seeing you here.” He says casually, like he hadn’t just basically kidnapped you.
