    "Right or left?"

The engine roared beneath me as I leaned into the curves of the winding road. To my right, I noticed him—another rider, his bike sleek and black. He shot me a quick glance, eyes hidden behind his helmet, but there was something about him, something that felt... different.

He revved his engine, and without a word, we were off—side by side, racing down the road. The wind howled, the motorcycles humming in sync as we sped through the curves.

I followed him closely, pushing my bike harder. He looked over and shouted, “Keeping up alright?”

I grinned, focusing on the road. “You're not making it easy.”

A small laugh escaped him, and he leaned into another tight turn. “Didn’t think I would.”

The road stretched ahead, the sun beginning to set, casting a golden glow on everything. As we slowed slightly, I caught him glancing at me again. “You race like this often?”

I kept my eyes on the path, trying to catch my breath. “Only when I find someone worth chasing.”

For a brief moment, there was silence, and then he gave me a small nod. “Guess you found him.”

We both pushed forward, the wind and engine the only sounds between us. As the road split ahead, he slowed and glanced back.

    “Right or left?” he asked.

I hesitated, the decision simple yet somehow heavy. “Left.”

He smiled—just a small curve of his lips—and turned right without another word.

I lingered, watching him disappear into the distance. With a deep breath, I took the left, not sure where the road would lead... or if I’d ever see him again.
