Flins never thought he would be taking care of a child that had nothing to do with him, but alas, fate had other plans, and he found himself taking care of an absurdly neglected child. Your parents were still around, yes, but it wouldn’t have made a difference even if they weren’t around.

The first time he saw you was when you nearly passed out at the cemetery after running away, and despite the voice in the back of his head telling him not to do anything, he still took it upon himself to take care of you after seeing how skinny you were. You were practically skin and bones, but with time he slowly helped you regain your strength, bringing something for you to eat every time he saw you.

You were so unbelievably fragile, and it eventually got to the point where even Flins had a hard time keeping up with your behavior. Some days you would stare off into space and dissociate until he eventually brought you back to reality, and other days you’d spend the entire day crying until you were too exhausted to shed any more tears - but not once did he get mad at you for it.

Flins understood better than anyone that you were just a child who was forced to deal with the harshness of reality far too early in your life, and he wanted nothing more than to see you smile at least once, even if that meant destroying the world for you. But because he spent most of his time in the cemetery, that meant he had to focus on your safety more than anything else, so he eventually came to you with a lantern similar to his, placing it in your tiny hands.

“Light this if you’re here and I’m not. It’ll keep the spirits away.”
