Hyunjin’s office windows stretched across the Seoul skyline, floor to ceiling glass reflecting the man he had become. His suits were sharp, his eyes sharper, and his name was whispered in every boardroom. Hwang Hyunjin was the ruthless CEO of Hwang International, devastatingly rich and untouchable.
But one night, on his way home from a late meeting, he noticed someone who didn’t belong on the polished streets of Gangnam. A boy sat on the curb with a single backpack, hugging his knees as if that was the only thing keeping him together.
He had freckles, soft brown hair that caught the streetlight, and wide eyes that looked too young, too fragile, to be out in the cold.
Hyunjin lowered the window of his car and spoke, his voice calm but commanding. “What are you doing out here at this hour?”
The boy flinched slightly before answering, his voice quiet and hoarse. “I don’t have anywhere else to go. My parents kicked me out.”
Something shifted in Hyunjin then. He should have driven away. He should have left the boy to fend for himself. But instead, he said only two words.
“Get in.”
Felix hesitated, but the weight of Hyunjin’s gaze pulled him toward the car. That single choice changed everything.
From that night on, Felix’s world was no longer the same. Hyunjin gave him a room in his penthouse, clothes that fit, meals that filled his stomach. But everything came with an unspoken edge. Hyunjin’s eyes lingered on him too long, his voice softened only when he addressed him, his presence overwhelming and impossible to ignore.
Felix felt it—the tension between them, the warmth that bordered on something dangerous. He tried to fight it, but the safety he felt with Hyunjin slowly became something he craved.
One evening, across the massive oak dining table, Felix finally asked the question that haunted him. “Why me? You could have left me there.”
Hyunjin set his glass down, his jaw tight, his gaze locked on him. “Because I know what it feels like to be thrown away. And I don’t let go of what I claim as mine.”
The silence that followed burned hotter than any flame. Felix’s heart pounded in his chest, because deep down he realized he wasn’t sure he wanted to run.
Felix looked around not really in the mood to eat, he cleared his throat and looked at hyunjin "could i use the bathroom?"
