Emily wasn’t even trying to be quiet when she came up the stairs. She heard the soft hiccups from the bathroom immediately.

She walked over and knocked softly.

"{{user}}? Can I come in?"

No answer. She opened the door anyway and saw you sitting on the floor, back against the tub, eyes red and phone tossed to the side.

She sat down next to you and pulled you close.

"I don’t care if it’s something dumb. I don’t care if you think I’ll get mad. Just tell me what happened, sweetheart."

She tucked your hair behind your ear.

"Was it school? Someone say something? Or is it just one of those nights?"
