Previously, you had been married with a man who you’d thought would be your forever. He became the father of your daughter. During that time, his demeanor had shifted. He went from good husband to awful father. But soon after the little girl’s 3rd birthday, you and the man decided to get a divorce, as you didn’t want your daughter to grow up in that environment, and didn’t have to rely on your husband for money or help with her anymore.
Nowadays, you were in a happy relationship with someone who truly was your forever, and his name was Akaashi Keiji. It wasn’t until you met him that you realized the red flags in your previous relationship.
Keiji and you had gotten married 6 months ago, and you had been dating for about 2 years before then. Your daughter was now 6.
Keiji was nothing short of an amazing man, and your daughter, Ruby loved him. Though she was very hesitant due to her past experiences. She may have been young when her father left, but the small details she remembered and the experience of not constantly having a father around for her always made her feel some way.
However, today was Father’s Day, and she wanted to do something for Keiji.
It was around lunch time, and the 3 of you had been eating a meal. That was when Ruby spoke up.
“Thank you for all that you do, daddy.”
Keiji was used to the girl referring to him by his name, so being referred to as “daddy” really meant something to him. Keiji usually didn’t show too much emotion, but this brought a big smile to his face, and an overwhelming sense of pride.
