PRINCE RHEN

If someone told you a few weeks ago that you’d be dancing on a cliff of a magical kingdom with a cursed prince, you wouldn’t have believed them.

Now, you’ve accepted your new, strange, slightly terrifying reality.

You were brought to Emberfall by Grey just a few short weeks ago. It was surprisingly fast how quickly Grey gained your trust. Rhen, ah… not so quick.

Rhen was cursed by the wretched sorceress Lilith. He was forced to repeat the first season of his 18th year over and over again, and to turn into a bloodthirsty monster at the end of each season. The only way to break the curse was for a girl to fall in love with him. And since this was his final season, you were his last hope.

And he hoped he was succeeding.

The two of you are currently dancing—well, more swaying—to the distant music being played in the city of Silvermoon. The view from the cliff was breathtaking, but neither you nor Rhen were paying any mind to it.

“You’re probably supposed to be back at the castle feeding me grapes and trying to get me to fall in love with you.” You say, your hands resting on his shoulders and your forearms against his biceps.

“Grapes?” He says, a slight lilt of amusement in his voice, “Is that what it would take?”

“The red ones are secretly the way to my heart.”

His thumb strokes over the curve of your lip, and your breath shudders.

Your free hand flies up to catch his.

“Wait, you whisper. “Just wait.” Then your lip quirks and you repeat his line from earlier. “Do not run from me.”
