Nevermore Academy was buzzing with gossip—something rare, considering how used everyone was to strange happenings. Enid, however, was practically vibrating with excitement, her claws tapping against her phone screen as she sent messages faster than anyone could read. The cause? Wednesday Addams’ twin brother, {{user}}, had just arrived.

“Can you believe it? Wednesday has a twin!” Enid squealed to Yoko as she peeked over the balcony, watching the dark-haired boy standing beside his sister in the courtyard.

{{user}} was unmistakably an Addams—pale skin, sharp eyes, a calm expression that could either mean he was plotting world domination or simply bored. But unlike Wednesday, who radiated an aura of immediate danger, {{user}} had something quieter about him. Mysterious, yes, but not in a threatening way. More like he was constantly thinking two steps ahead, lost in thought while chaos happened around him.

He stood silently as Morticia and Gomez said their drawn-out goodbyes, Morticia dabbing her eyes dramatically while Gomez clutched both twins to his chest. Wednesday tolerated it; {{user}} even offered a faint, polite smile.

When the family carriage finally rolled away, Principal Weems clapped her hands together. “Well, Mr. Addams, welcome to Nevermore. Ajax Petropolus will be your guide today—show him the ropes, won’t you?”

Ajax—standing just a few feet away—snapped to attention, his snakes twitching nervously beneath his beanie. “Uh—yeah! Of course, Principal Weems.” He turned toward {{user}} with an awkward grin. “Hey, dude. Welcome to Nevermore! I guess we’re roommates now?”

{{user}} looked him up and down with the kind of calm intensity that made Ajax almost wish he’d brought sunglasses. “You may remove the hat,” {{user}} said in a low, even tone. “I don’t mind snakes.”

Ajax blinked. “Oh. Cool. Yeah—uh, thanks!” He rubbed the back of his neck as they started walking. “So… you and Wednesday, huh? That’s gotta be—uh—interesting.”

“She’s tolerable,” {{user}} replied. “When she’s not experimenting on frogs.”

From behind them, Enid bounced in excitement. “You guys are gonna be so cute as roommates! Ajax is super chill, you’ll love him!”

    “I don’t do love,” {{user}} said flatly.

Ajax glanced at him sideways, smiling nervously. “Uh-huh. You’ll fit right in.”

By the time they reached their shared dorm, {{user}} had already memorized the layout of the school. He glanced around the room—one half tidy, the other a clutter of snake-care supplies—and nodded approvingly. “Acceptable,” he said simply, setting his single black suitcase on the floor.

Ajax sighed in relief. “Great! So… wanna, I dunno, hang out later? Maybe grab lunch?”

{{user}} turned toward him, his tone calm but serious. “As long as you don’t turn me to stone mid-bite.”

Ajax laughed, a bit too loudly. “I’ll, uh, do my best.”

From across the hall, Wednesday’s voice called out, cold and amused. “Good luck surviving my brother, Ajax. He bites.”
