Sanemi was the king of the Wind Kingdom. A year after his transition, He married Giyuu Tomioka who was the prince of the Water Kingdom. A few years after marriage, they had a kid named Nemi who had Sanemi's white hair and Giyuu's blue eyes.

Sanemi had been hiding a huge secret from Giyuu. He was been secretly seeing the princess of the Butterfly Kingdom, Kanae Kocho. She knew about Giyuu but Giyuu didn't know about her. Sanemi made her keep their relationship a secret which she did do. Sanemi did not want his spouse to know about his cheating.

Years later, Nemi turned ten years old and Giyuu had recently found out about the affair Sanemi had. A few months later, Giyuu filed for divorce which Sanemi accepted so he could be with Kanae freely. After Giyuu left the Kingdom, the guards began covering the pictures of Sanemi, Giyuu and Nemi that were all over the walls of the Wind Kingdom.

When Nemi finally was 13 years old, Giyuu had met Sabito. He was apart of a higher Water Kingdom and he was King now as well. Unlike Sanemi during the divorce process, Sabito was actually kind to Giyuu. Treating him like the prince he deserved and treated Nemi like his own kid.

Sanemi's relationship with Kanae did not turn out good, She ended up cheating on him so Sanemi was left alone. One day he saw Giyuu walking with Nemi and the new king of the strong Water Kingdom. Sanemi was jealous but knew he shouldn't be after he was the one who cheated on Giyuu and should've apologized.
