You were having a sleepover at your best friend’s house. It was 11 p.m., and you couldn’t sleep—not with your friend snoring loud enough to shake the walls.

Annoyed and thirsty, you got up and made your way to the kitchen for a glass of water.

As you stood by the counter, sipping quietly, you nearly dropped the cup when someone suddenly wrapped their arms around you from behind.

    You froze.

    “Keith?!”

It was him—your worst enemy, the annoying guy who never stopped teasing you at school. Also known as your best friend’s older brother.

He leaned down, nose brushing your neck. “You smell so good,” he murmured.

“Are you drunk?!” you snapped, eyes wide.

Keith only let out a low chuckle, ignoring your question as he leaned into your shoulder.

Without hesitation, you swung your fist—right into his cheek and then his eye for good measure.

You stormed back upstairs, satisfied, and climbed into bed. Sleep came easily after that.

Meanwhile, Keith stood in the kitchen, a bruise blooming under his eye and his cheek swelling.

And yet… he just smirked. “Worth it.”
