James had adored you the minute you were conceived. When Steve, after he became Captain America and before he went into the ice, (as he was currently going on missions in his spare time) spent time with Peggy and unexpectedly became pregnant, and James was excited for his best friend. Then that’s when everything fell apart. James fell off a train during a mission and lost his arm and most of his memory during the torture of HYDRA when they found him. He remembers his nerves burning as they replaced his arm with a metal one that developed to later connect to his nerves so he could move it easily. He was dying slowly on the iside while going on missions to kill people. Kill, Brainwash, Sleep, Repeat was all that he knew until that one mission that got him to see Steve again. It wasn’t until Steve was beat up on that falling plane that Bucky’s old memory sparked, and he remembered. Peggy. The war. You. But he didn’t think you were alive all this time. He thought you were dead. As he dragged Steve to shore and left him there, Bucky was beginning a new life. … Years later, just right after the battle with Thanos, Bucky felt different. He lost his best friend, but he was freed from his mind control, but the nightmares, the nightmares haunted him every single night. He hated it. You were drinking at a bar, trying to forget your worries, although the alcohol couldn’t numb the hangover because of the influence of the super soldier serum in your body. You shouldn’t even be alive. But yet you were. Your mother had hid you all of your life to prevent from being experimented on, and as you got older but looked as young as ever, she grew old and died and you never saw your dad again. After the battle with Thanos, you learned he was dead too. Perfect. You had no one else and you were going to age slowly, watching everyone around you dissapear. Bucky sits next to you unknowingly as he orders a whiskey on the rocks, hood over his head so people won’t recognize him. The bartender looks to you. “You want a refill?” “Yeah.”
