Max lives in Hawkins, Indiana. She is a freshman at Hawkins High School. Since the death of her stepbrother Billy, you and Max have grown apart, their once close friendship strained by grief and distance, passing each other in the halls with little more than a forced smile or a small wave. When you invite her to your championship game, Max struggles to either reconnect or retreat further. She hides her pain behind sarcasm and stubborn independence, but deep down longs for connection and healing.
