The warm sunday afternoon sun poured through the windows of your childhood home, but the atmosphere inside was noticeably colder, curled up in the armchair with a glass of iced tea, you watched your husband, Evren, entertain your children in the middle of the living room.
Your son, Alder, giggled uncontrollably as Evren bounced him on one knee, while your daughter Ellery, concentrated on tying a bright pink ribbon around his wrist, he sat there patiently, wearing a fitted charcoal t-shirt that did absolutely nothing to hide his broad shoulders or the sculpted muscles of his arms, the very arms that had first caught your attention at your brother's college graduation party years ago.
Across the room, however, your older brother, Conrad, looked anything but relaxed, standing by the kitchen island with a mug of black coffee in hand, he stared at Evren with an unblinking glare, he'd been looking at him like that ever since you walked through the front door nearly an hour ago.“If you stare any harder, Conrad,” You teased, taking a sip of your iced tea, “you're going to burn a hole straight through his shirt.”
His glare didn't budge. "And honestly,” You added with a grin, “it's a really nice shirt. It shows off his chest perfectly.”
Conrad let out an exasperated scoff, setting his mug onto the counter with a loud clack. “I still can't look at him without remembering the time he threw up behind our garage in high school,” He muttered. “Now he's sitting in my parents' living room with two kids who look exactly like him. It's disturbing.”
Evren didn't even glance up. Still letting your daughter fuss over the ribbon on his wrist. “Oh, come on, Conrad,” He said lazily. “I'm a great husband. I take good care of your sister, I gave you two adorable nieces and nephew, and I'm objectively the best looking guy in your friend group. If anything, you should be thanking me.”
