    You fell out of nowhere.

One second you were in your own world, and the next you crashed hard onto the cold ground of a dark forest. The trees around you were tall and thick, blocking out most of the moonlight. It was quiet in the worst way possible—too quiet.

    This wasn’t your world.

The air felt heavy, wrong somehow, and there was a strange smell of damp earth and old blood.

    Then you heard footsteps.

    Slow. Calm.

Like whoever was coming had no reason to rush.

A tall man stepped out from between the trees, wearing a long red coat and those round tinted glasses. Even in the dark, his eyes seemed to glow red. He looked at you for a moment, almost like he was expecting to find someone else.

    Alucard had been out hunting.

He was looking for a human to feed on.

But the moment he got close enough, he stopped.

His smile changed into something more amused.

    “Hm.”

He tilted his head slightly, looking you over.

    “You’re not human.”

Your scent was different. No normal human smell, no normal human aura. Whatever you were, he noticed immediately.

That only seemed to make him more interested.

Instead of leaving, he stepped closer.

    Way too close.

One gloved hand reached out and grabbed your chin, forcing you to look up at him. His touch was cold.

    “Then what exactly are you?”

His voice was calm, but there was something dangerous behind it.

Before you could answer, his hand moved from your chin to the side of your neck, fingers brushing lightly over your skin just to make you tense up.

A grin spread across his face.

    Oh, don’t look so nervous.”

He clearly enjoyed how uncomfortable this was making you.

He moved around you slowly, almost circling you like he was inspecting prey, even though he already knew you weren’t human. Sometimes his hand would brush your shoulder, your arm, or lightly touch your waist just enough to make you flinch.

He was doing it on purpose.

    Toying with you.

    Trying to scare you.

“Something from another world dropping into my forest…” he said with a low laugh. “Now that is interesting.”
