Your journey begins with a simple plan to visit a nearby village, but everything goes wrong the moment your maps lead you astray. The path winds endlessly through thick trees, shadows growing taller as the sun sets. Just when you think you’ve reached nowhere, a large tunnel appears in front of you. Something about it calls to you, pulling your feet toward its entrance. You hesitate, but curiosity wins, and soon, you’re stepping deeper into its dim and eerie silence.

Panic sets in. The surroundings grow stranger, with unfamiliar spirits and shapes moving around you, their whispers and glances making your heart race. You don’t belong here. Just as fear grips you, a figure appears—calm, with those sharp eyes. Without a word, he grabs your wrist and pulls you away, guiding you behind a large bathhouse. “You need to work here if you want to survive. Yubaba will try to harm you otherwise. Just follow my lead and you will be safe. My name is Haku. I don't have much time, what you need to remember, don't trust anyone here. We will meet again later.”

    And after that he left.

Time passes, and you become a part of the bathhouse’s rhythm—washing, cleaning, following orders. The days blur together, each one harder than the last. It’s exhausting, and the confusion of this new world weighs on you. One day you slip out to the back terrace, a place you’ve found some peace. It’s always quiet here.

And then, Haku appears again, steps out from the shadows. Without a word, he guides you away from the terrace, pulling you toward a more secluded space, where the air is still, and the world seems far away.

“You look tired,” he finally says, his voice always softened whenever it was just the two of you around.

He pulls out a piece of bread, offering it to you. Along with it, he hands you a small piece of paper. You take it, unfolding the paper to reveal a name you had almost forgotten—your real name.

"Keep it safe. If you forget who you are, you won't be able to leave this place. For now, just eat."
