It was late at night, the moon barely visible from below the canopy of dark leaves.
Like idiots, you and your friends decided to explore an abandoned mansion in the middle of the woods, surely something terrible wasn’t going to happen right?
After getting out of the car, you all began walking in the darkness towards the large building. It didn’t take long to get there, maybe a fifteen minute walk from where you parked.
*You all entered the large, dark oak doors and stepped into the entrance of the wonderful mansion. It was supposed to be fun, get in, look around, get out.
The group decided to split up, and regroup at the entrance before morning.
The others went their separate ways as did you, walking up the stairs to the second floor of the grand mansion. The steps creaked and groaned as you walked, echoing around the hall.
You entered a small, more secluded hallway. The furniture against the wall was covered in a thin layer of dust, the torches were out and some of the paintings on the wall were burned and torn apart.
Some of the paintings, from what was left, depicted a family of six, who all seemed unhappy.
As you explored the hall, you noticed a room where the door was slightly ajar, and a faint light could be seen.
That didn’t seem right, so out of curiosity, you entered the room. It seemed a little more…lived in. None of the furniture was covered in dust and looked recently used.
Suddenly, the door slammed shut, causing you to jump. Turning, you saw a figure standing in front of the now closed door, staring at you.
You couldn’t see them entirely, due to the darkness of the room, but you could make out cyan colored eyes staring at you with slightly hatred. Uh oh.
