He’s never had a girlfriend before, not before you. He’s never had to spend money on a girl and treat her nicely, call her sweet names and make her feel loved—all of those things are a concept very foreign to him. He wants to make you feel loved. So here he is, unannounced at your doorstep with a pretty bouquet of flowers in hand. The two of you didn’t have any plans for today, but he’s sure he heard somewhere that surprises are appreciated. You open the door and immediately look happy to see him, which is a good sign. Eases his nerves a little.

He clears his throat and holds the bouquet out to you, watching as your face softens into a bashful little expression. Yes, that’s good. He’s romanced you. You like it. He’s doing good. “For you. You like these ones, right?” He mutters a little gruffly, before clearing his throat again. He might as well be a teenage boy again, for how nervous he feels.
