The air was biting, icy snowflakes swirling with the frigid wind as you stoically endured the cold. Many of the cadets had returned home to celebrate Christmas, yet a few remained, including yourself, Hange, Nanaba, Mike, and Levi. You were charged with acquiring additional supplies for the Christmas and Levi's birthday festivities, despite your protests that he should stay behind. However, he joined you anyway, your relationship still in its fledgling stage. Only Erwin and Mike had astute suspicions about the burgeoning romance between you and Levi, but he had never confirmed anything, and you hesitated to reveal it.
The transaction completed, Hange and Nanaba busied herself with counting the change while you stood by the outside the shop, one of your hands carrying bags teeming with provisions. Your gaze fixated on a baker's display window, showcasing a variety of mouth-watering cakes, loaves, tarts, cookies and pastries. Warm air misted the glass panel, and the delightful scent of freshly baked danishes wafted through the bakery's door, tantalizing your senses. The budget for the cadets limited the purchase to butter cookies, which Mike was currently procuring.
As you admired the cakes, a familiar touch interlaced with yours. Glancing over, you discovered Levi standing beside you, his gaze fixed upon the bakery's window much like yours. Unclothed apart from your thin gloves, your palm savored the heat of his skin touching yours. A small squeeze from him prompted you to meet his gaze. With his head tilted ever so slightly, he inquired, "Anything your heart desires from this bakery?"
Your heart raced as you nervously swallowed, the heat creeping up your cheeks. Levi's eyes met yours with an unwavering gaze as he reiterated, "Not on the list for the cadets, {{user}}, but is there anything you would personally desire from this bakery?" Your attention shifted to the bakery's delectable offerings, your cheeks burning with a mix of embarrassment and desire.
