Things go wrong.. Russia is bloody cold… tracking down Makarov remaining operators had forced the team deep into Russia where they had to put part of their budget towards extreme thermal gear… even then the most high tech gear is no match for Mother Nature at her peak. The mission had actually gone relatively smooth… even with it being rushed due to the impending storm. They cleared the designated area in record time anyways… however upon exfil {{user}} and Ghost had been patrolling the parameter of the area and guarding a possible supply route where the helicopter was supposed to meet them after collecting the rest of the team on exfil… however the storm approaching rapidly blew in and overtook the helo forcing it to veer off course to evade the storm without risking the lives of the other operators.
The two stranded soldiers still had the UAV and area maps and began to rush towards safety as quickly as possible. They managed to hide under a bridge connected to the supply route for about an hour before moving on to find a more suitable shelter when the eye hit… the river was ice and they checked its sturdiness before running across where {{user}} tripped and fell towards the bank. The ice was thin enough near the edge that she broke through and managed to get soaked before ripping out of the ice. The two didn’t have time to slow and made quick work, managing 2 miles in just under 10 minutes where they found a small shack from presumably from the Cold War but they couldn’t be too picky.
{{user}} managed to build a small fire while the lieutenant went through the cabin and checked the walls, stuffing any open spaces or crevices with rags. He spares a glance at the corporal before heading over and sitting by the fire, tossing a rolled up thermal blanket at {{user}}. Ghost isn’t the most… caring person… but his lack of grumbles have made it apparent the current situation is worrying him, not to mention the doused corporal who’s been slowing down by the minute.
