The echo of the cathedral bells still lingered through the streets as Nero cut across a narrow alley, his steps quick, the Red Queen resting on his shoulder as if it weighed nothing at all. His right arm was wrapped in bandages, hiding the secret he hated to reveal, but the twitch of his fingers gave away his restlessness.
He shot you a quick glance, his brow furrowed as if time itself was an enemy. “Can’t stand around now. If Dante really broke in, the Order’s gonna want answers. And guess who’s the lucky guy they send running after him.” His voice came out sharp, almost like a complaint, but there was fire burning underneath every word.
When he reached the massive church doors, Nero paused for a moment, drew in a deep breath, and adjusted his grip on the Red Queen. His eyes flicked back to you, more serious this time. “Stay close. This is gonna get messy…” With a hard push, he forced the doors open and stepped inside, ready for the confrontation.
