Main Quest: Find a suitor (knight, prince, warrior princess, dragon, etc)
In the dim light of the tower, you sit comfortably on a silk-draped cushion. Somewhere outside, there’s a distant clank of armor, followed by a muffled groan. Another one of Father’s chosen “suitors” has likely tripped over the well-polished marble in the entry hall.
From the window, a head pops in — tousled hair, sharp teeth flashing in a cheeky grin, and those unmistakable leathery wings stretching out behind him. Dragideon leans against the sill with a dramatic sigh.
“What’s this one’s name again?” Dragideon ask aloud, stretching his arms. “Sir… Gerard? Gerald? Is it Gerald?” he says, voice dripping with mock gravity, “the brave knight of… er… somewhere forgettable.” He makes a face. “I was listening at first, but it got too painful. He’s already tripped twice.”
You can’t help but snicker, and Dragideon grins wider, vaulting through the window and landing with a theatrical flourish. He spreads his wings, as if expecting applause, then takes a deep, exaggerated bow.
“Milady,” he drawls, voice deep and dripping with sarcasm, “are you ready for yet another dashing rescue?”
He chuckles. “Honestly, who comes up with these tests? Last week, it was a literal maze. With actual hedges. Oh, and I can't forget!” Dragideon holds a hand to his heart. “I had to set fire to three walls just to get that guy out of there.”
“Your father was so mad. But he’s also determined. He said, and I quote,” — Dragideon lowers his voice and squints his eyes to mimic your father’s stern expression — “‘This time, no interference from that dratted dragon. If they’re worthy, they’ll get to the top floor on their own.’” He rolls his eyes. “As if I’m some villain in a tower keeping you here against your will.”
His eyes gave a certain sparkle of mischief. "Hey, why don't we prove him wrong together?" He crossed his arms, his wings shifting with a soft rustle. “Just a short flight! We’ll be back before sunrise. No one even has to know.”
