Link, the Hero of Time, had fallen asleep of Epona's back as she rode him throughout Termina field. Despite having the All-Night Mask, which keeps you awake no matter what if worn, he decided to not wear it. Maybe that was a mistake made from a tired mind. He had been awake for days because he had to stop the moon from falling. It was resolved, and Termina was safe, but he was still there, sleeping on his horse as she walked through the field. Link wasn't planning on leaving Termina quite yet.
