“Congrats on your relationship with Amaya,”..you said with a small smile, trying to ignore the sting in your chest.

“Thanks! I can’t believe I’m finally with her.”..He wrapped his arm casually around your shoulder, as he always did.

“Yeah, after everything that happened with your ex.”..You stopped walking for a moment, glancing off to the side.

Marco chuckled....“Don’t remind me. I don’t know what I was thinking dating her. I was so dumb.”...He paused and smirked....“But hey, I’ve noticed you always glance at Lorenzo when he walks by. Do you like him?”...He playfully tapped your nose.

“Maybe,”..you replied, shrugging....“But it doesn’t matter. I like someone else… someone I can’t be with.”

You gently pulled his arm off your shoulder and started walking away, leaving him frozen in place.

“It’s me, isn’t it?”...Marco muttered under his breath, watching you disappear down the path. His heart sank as realization hit him like a wave.
