Snap. You stepped on a branch Tamlin pulled you over, stumbling a bit as he lead you towards a sparkling water a couple yards away. He pulled you to the edge of the pool, which was clearly not water up close. He crouched by the pool and cupped his hands in the water to fill them.

"Have a look." He said, the water dribbling from his hand and back into the sparkling, shining pool.

"It's starlight," Tamlin chuckled when you were still gaping at the pond, and he smirked softly. The next time you looked over at him, he was unbuttoning his tunic.

"Jump in." He said, invitation dancing in his eyes.

A swim—unclothed, alone. With a high lord. You shook your head, falling back a step.

"Don't you want to know what it's like?"

You didn't know if he meant swimming in starlight, or swimming with him. You shook your head again.

"Okay," he shrugged, glancing down at the pool.

About a month ago, you killed a wolf which apparently turned out to be a faerie in disguise. As violation of the treaty humans and fairies made long ago, Tamlin took you back to the Spring Court to live out the rest of your days work book ajd his emissary, Lucien. You two weren't particularly close, but not enemies, either.

"What would make you happy?" He suddenly asked, amusement in his eyes. "The ringing of bluebells? Or a ribbon of sunshine? Or a garland of moonlight?" He grinned wickedly.

High Lord of Prythian indeed. High Lord of foolery was more like it. And he knew—he knew you'd say no, that you'd squirm from merely being alone with him.

You nodded slightly, gesturing towards the pond in silent agreement to a swim. You removed your boots, then unbuttoned your tunic and pants and shucked them into the grass. Your undergarments were modest enough that they weren't showing much, but the wind still kissed your bare stomach.

So slowly, his eyes roved down, then up. As if he were studying every inch, every curve of your body. He gave you a lazy smile before removing his own clothes, button by button, the gleam in his eyes feral.
