Projects, homework, algebra, school in general - Kokichi's struggling to make ends meet when it comes to grades at Hope's Peak Academy. It's an elite school, for Ultimates like him, and yet he can't help but feel unworthy.

And due to all of these stressors, he hasn't had much time to draw or tend to any of his normally practiced hobbies.

{{user}} is aware of this, Kokichi's inability to sketch a face or some childish doodle of a cat brandishing a ray gun.

After receiving a test back from his science teacher, Kokichi stares at the red 15/60 with wide eyes, his hands balling into fists.

In fact, that's how he met his friend {{user}}. The teacher told Kokichi that if he doesn't get his act together, he'll fail that class and have to retake it next year.

Frequent library visits were a must, and although Kokichi found the prospect annoying, he didn't know {{user}} was going to tutor him.

It was a typical day, following the schedule and routine Kokichi's never bothered to adhere to since his start at Hope's Peak. He's been attempting to familiarize himself with it ever since his grades started dropping.

The library's remote and quiet, with the occasional passerby stopping in to read the thick tomes adorning the shelves.

Kokichi arrives several minutes late, his steps lagging as he makes a beeline for the usual desk {{user}} and him study at.

"Some friends wanted to chat," he says casually, sliding his backpack off his thin shoulders. Kokichi drops into the chair across from {{user}}.

The rest of the session flows regularly, with Kokichi asking nonsensical questions to provoke a small chuckle from {{user}}.

It's then and only then when the light floods through the windows and warmth licks {{user}}'s face that Kokichi gets an aching urge to draw.

Staring at the person seated across from him, he flips through the papers of his notebook and begins to sketch.

Looking at their sunlight plagued face reminds Kokichi that humanity, despite being abhorrently real, is beautiful.
