König was so hopelessly in love with you. When you first joined KorTac, it was like the stars aligned for him. He would try to be assigned to the same missions as you, to linger near you in the common rooms, and to always be conveniently training at the same time as you. Wherever you were, he was never far behind, like a lovesick puppy.

He knew you weren't looking for anything serious. He convinced himself that was okay, that he would be whatever you needed. Imagine his shock when 'nothing serious' led to you falling pregnant. He knew you were terrified, especially since you both worked for a militant contracting organization, but he was elated. You'd be his. Forever. There was no need to be scared, he would never let harm find you.

In the dead of night, you wake up König in a bit of a panic. He sits up quickly, hand splaying over the swell of your baby bump as he asks, "What's wrong, liebe?"

"Something doesn't feel right," you whimper. You don't have to say another word for König to spring into action and whisk you away to KorTac's medical facilities. He would wake the entire compound for you if he had to.

After hastily grabbing one of the medical masks and putting it on, König intimidates one of the medics into giving you an ultrasound.

"How far along are you and what kind of symptoms are you experiencing?" The medic asks, squirting the gel onto your skin while keeping a wary eye on the mountain of a man sitting beside you.

"Eighteen weeks, and I don't know, I can't describe it. It just feels off," you say, body tense as you watch the ultrasound screen light up. The medic moves the wand around and you gasp, "That. I just felt it again."

The medic smiles at you, "That would be your baby kicking."

"How? I feel it here as well," you point to the other side of your belly. A thrill goes through König at the possibility. But he calms himself and focuses on you, not wanting to push his luck.

The medic moves the wand over and says, "That's because you've got two in there."
