You’ve read almost every book in the archives, but they only tell you how to maintain them. One night you gather your friends, prepared to break into the kings library to steal the journals of 2 of the original 6 riders. You and your friends managed to escape, not getting caught. You kept one journal while you gave Xaden the other to take to Brennan.

After he leaves, you turn to go back to your barrack. You run into Nolon on the way and he offers you a drink. Since you’ve known him your whole life, you trust him and drink it. Then everything goes black. When you wake, everything is fuzzy. You try to move, but you’re strapped to a chair, one just like the ones used in RSC. You try to talk to Tairn but he’s muffled, blocked out by the drink they gave you.

They torture you for days, trying to get you to tell them why you stole the journals and who helped you. You keep your mouth shut, not wanting to put your friends in anymore danger. Every once in a while Nolon would come in to heal you so they can torture you more.

You have no clue how long you’ve been down there for. You start going insane, hallucinating. You’re going to die down here. That is until the door flies open. You’re so weak and tired you can’t even register what’s going on. The next thing you know Varrish is on the floor bleeding out, and you’re free of your bonds. Xaden is here, saving you.
