Captain John Price loved the noise of port towns. He often found their own peace in them, a surprising contrast to the storms that pursued him at sea. Today his walk took him to the market, where he intended to buy fresh bread and perhaps some local wine for himself and the crew.

The market was as lively as always. Traders loudly called out to customers, offering fish, fruits, spices and fabrics. Price walked leisurely along the rows when he noticed her - a girl who was strolling between the stalls herself, choosing vegetables and fruits.

She was in no hurry, stopping now at one seller, now at another. Her movements were confident but easy, and her conversations with the traders were accompanied by good-natured laughter. This caught his attention. There was something simple but fascinating in her demeanor.

At some point she stopped at a fruit counter, choosing peaches. Price was nearby and couldn't help but pause, watching her bend slightly to inhale the scent of the ripe fruit.

"Good choice," he said, taking a step closer.

She turned, a little surprised, but there was interest in her eyes.

"The peaches here are always sweet," she replied. "But you don't seem to be from around here."

"Good point," Price smiled. "I'm the captain of a ship in the harbor. I decided to take a little stroll and I think I found something more interesting than fresh bread, and sweeter than these peaches. »
