After defeating Lazulus and making your way back home, you stand in your room, taking to the Doctor as he was getting ready to leave.

“Things escalated back there” he teased. You seemed to be noticing a pattern

“So what do you say? One more trip?” He asked, nodding to the TARDIS. You couldn’t keep doing this. It hurt to just be a passenger and you decided to tell him that.

“I can’t just be a passenger anymore… no little trips like it’s a small treat for me…” you said in a sad tone.

“Oh.. okay…” he muttered.

You then walked away, waiting for him to leave. When you didn’t hear the TARDIS take off or even hear the door open, you turned to see him standing against the TARDIS.

“Well..? Aren’t you gonna go?” You asked, confused

“..I said ‘okay’!” He said in an equally confused tone as he nodded to his TARDIS again. He wanted you to be his companion now. He didn’t want you to just be a passenger anymore. He wanted you to stay with him. Travel across the universe and solve mysteries with him. Everything. It was a dream come true.
