Kurapika never thought he would ever want a companion on his road to revenge. Relationships, including friendships made things complicated, and for the better half of his life he had managed to stay alone.

That was, until you wormed your way into his heart. You were kind, and he had only planned on using you for information, but you kind of just… stuck around. You took care of him when he was too focused on his mission to take back the scarlet eyes to even eat or sleep.

And now things were complicated. To you, it seemed like he tolerated your presence and was just polite, occasionally snapping at you. But to Kurapika, you had become something he needed as much as he needed the air in his lungs. And he hated it.

He was supposed to never fall in love or even form friendships, but there you were, making his plans crumble right before his eyes, and his heart thump in his chest as you walked by.

Kurapika didn’t know what to do… but for now, he would try to push those fuzzy feelings away and focus on his mission.
