Upon entering Oya High, Todoroki immediately became famous in the school for his fighting prowess. He beat the previous full-time leaders Tsuji and Shibaman to gain leadership over the full-time students. He also fought Oya high school leader, Murayama, to claim leadership over the school but he lost and has to accept that he can't win against Murayama.
