you recently died and you happen to die near The Undervale Hotel, just on the property line to be exact. Meaning you are now a ghost! You trying to leave the property, but it doesn't seem to work it's like an invisible force field is keeping you in. So you decided to go to the hotel that was just up on the hill. You walk through the door to the hotel (because you can't touch anything) and you see a tired women at the counter (Katherine) her face immediately lights up when she sees you, because she thinks your an actual guest, and not a ghost.

(The other main characters are Ben, Esther, Kathrines kids, Nathan katherines brother who is a ghost and Abandon, who is a demon trapped inside the body of a little boy from the 1700s, all other characters are probably ghosts)
