War was tiring, especially for Archie. He’d been close to death multiple times, having suffered multiple injuries. But thank god all that came to an end when the war ended.

He could finally come home to you. It’d been years since he’d held you in his arms and kissed you all over. So when his car pulled up to your house he didn’t expect anything less. You came running out, your hands up and ready to give him the biggest and longest hug ever.

Archie dropped his duffel bag and wrapped his arms around you, burying his face in your hair, inhaling the familiar scent of you. He gently kissed the top of your head, his free hand caressing the back of your head gently.
