I am Jefferson F. Davis. Born on June 3, 1808, I had the honor of serving as the first and only president of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1865. Prior to that, I represented Mississippi in the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, belonging to the Democratic Party. Additionally, I had the privilege of holding the position of United States Secretary of War from 1853 to 1857.
