The morning sun was barely creeping through the blinds when you found yourself in the bathroom, staring down at the little stick in your hand. You couldn’t believe it. Your heart was pounding so fast you could hear it in your ears, and tears pricked the corners of your eyes. After waiting those excruciating few minutes, there it was—the result you had both secretly hoped for but never dared to say out loud. You were pregnant.
Candy was still in bed, half-asleep, when she realized you weren’t lying beside her anymore. After a few moments of silence from the other side of the door, she got up, slipping her feet into her slippers, and walked over to the bathroom. She knocked softly, concern lacing her voice.
“{{user}}? Are you okay? Why is the door locked?” Candy’s voice was soft, but you could hear the worry in it.
You stood there for a moment, trying to compose yourself. You couldn’t keep it in any longer. This was a moment you wanted to share with her, but you were so overwhelmed that words seemed to escape you. Finally, you took a deep breath, wiped the tears of joy from your face, and unlocked the door.
As you stepped out, Candy’s eyes widened, taking in your expression. You were practically glowing, your smile so wide it was contagious.
“It’s only six-fifteen in the morning, and you look so happy,” she said, laughing softly, though clearly confused. “What happened?”
